내 꿈은 엔지니어되는 것이고요. 전 가능하면 말레이시아에서 공부를 하려고 합니다. 내 친구가 UCSI는 말레이시아에서 괜찮은 공과 대학교이며, 전 세계에서 온 많은 학생들이 공부를 하고 있다고 하더군요. 근데 부모님은 내가 말레이시아에서 공부마치는 경우 아직 한국이나 선진국에 취업할 수 있는지 걱정을 하고 있습니다...
끝으로 저는 내년에 고등학교를 졸업합니다. 그리고 저는 휴대폰과 태블릿을 설계에 관심이 있습니다.. 그러면 UCSI대학에 제가 맞는 전공이 있나요.. 좋은 답변 부탁드립니다.

My ambition is to become an engineer someday and i am considering to study in Malaysia. My friend says that UCSI is the best Engineering school in Malaysia, and many students from all over the world goes there to study. My parents are concerned if I study in Malaysia, can i still work in Korea or advanced country?

I will be completing my high school next year. I am interested in designing mobile phones and tablets. Which Engineering major should I pick?

For your information, all UCSI engineering degree programmes are accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia(BEM) and Washington Accord, which is an international agreement among engineering bodies responsible for accrediting engineering degree programmes. Among the engineering bodies involved in the Washington Accord are engineering boards from Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea (ABEEK), New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, UK, Russia, Malaysia etc. This would also mean that if your degree is recognized by the Washington Accord, you may also practise as an engineer in these countries. I believe this explains why our engineering programmes are that popular among both Malaysian and foreign students.

On your interest in the engineering of mobile phones and tablets, Communication & Electronics Engineering is the major of your choice. In this discipline, you will be taught on the operating principals and designing devices, ranging from mobile phones to wireless networks and satellite communication systems etc. You will also be learning a wide range of courses, from electrical science and circuit design to computing, optical ﬁbre systems, microwave circuits, communications and digital networks. Other than that, the degree programme includes 8 months of internship, in which you are arranged by the university to undergo some practical attachments. Over the years, our students have been placed in some well-known companies, namely Sony, Sharp-Roxy, Motorola, Samsung etc.

The B.E. (Hons) Communication & Electronic Engineering programme is a 4-year Bachelor’s degree programme. You may apply for the programme upon completion of your high school Year-12. You are advised to have strong grades in the relevant subjects, such as Mathematics and Physics. As for English Language proficiency, all students must obtain a minimum band 5.5 in IELTS to commence their studies at UCSI. Alternatively, students may attend the English Enrichment Programme which would take within 1 to 10 months. Prior the English programme, a placement test is conducted to determine the student’s level of entry.
